Day 1: HOMELAND – TASHKENT

Fly from Homeland to Tashkent.

Meeting at the airport by English speaking guide and transfer to the hotel..Accomadation in Hotel.

Tashkent

Tashkent is one of the most ancient cities in Central Asia. It has been founded more than 2 thousand years ago. During the different periods, it was called as Chach, Shash, and Binkent. For the first time, the name «Tashkent» («the City of stones, a stone city») meets in the XI century.

The City has arisen in a densely populated valley on the border of dwelling settled and nomad tribes as a trading center. At the beginning of the XIX century, Tashkent had the appearance of a typical eastern city: low mud houses with flat roofs, narrow streets over which domes of mosques and madrassah rose.

Changes have begun in the second half of the XIX century when the city became the center of Turkestan Krai. In Tashkent appeared the so-called «Russian city» with avenues, parks, and houses constructed in the European style. In the XX century, the city has absolutely changed: Its population has grown more than in 10 times, appeared industrial enterprises.

Day 2: TASHKENT – BUKHARA

EARLY BREAKFAST. Transfer to the airport at 06.00 and fly

by flight HY-1337 at 07.10 and arrive in Bukhara at 08.20. Transfer to the

Hotel and accommodation in the hotel. Excursion of the city:

Bukhoroi-Sharif — Blessed Bukhar is one of the numerous epithets which this ancient city was awarded. Great poets of the East of IX-XV centuries, Rudaki, Dakiki, and Firdousi devoted to it kasidas(verses). Bukhara is one of the most ancient cities of Uzbekistan(more than 2500 years).

The center of the Bukhara region. In ancient times it was a part of Sogd — one of the provinces of Central Asia, where already at the times of Alexander the Great the town-planning structure was well developed.

Its modern appearance Bukhara obtained at the times of Sheybanids and Ashtarkhanids dynasties in XVI-XVII centuries. In that period when there have been constructed the majority of its amazing mosques and madrassahs, caravans-sheds and baths, fortifications and gates, and also large architectural ensembles and tombs. The city preserved up to now the walls of the ancient citadel Ark, more than 140 architectural monuments of the Muslim epoch.

• Mausoleum Ismail Samani – the oldest building in Central Asia (IX-X c.).

• Chashmai Ayyub – according to the legends the Biblical Prophet whose name was Iov (Ayyub) has visited this place.

• Bolo Khauz mosque. The only monument of the mid ages (beginnings of XX c.)

• Ark Citadel – the center of government of Bukhara (IV BC)

LUNCH. Sightseeing Tour:

• Minaret Kalian – The main symbol of Bukhara (XII c.).

• Mosque Kalian – the square of this mosque is wider than Bibi Khanim Mosque which is in Samarkand.

• Madrassah of Mir Arab – is still in use (XVI c.).

• Tim of Abdulla-Khan.

• Toki Telpak Furushon.

• Toki Sarrafon.

• Toki Zargaron – Domes of jewelers (XV-XVI c.).

• Madrassah of Ulughbek – the first of the three Madrassah which was built by the grandson of Timur (XV c.).

• Madrassah of Abdulazizkhan – (XVII c.).

• Lyabi Khauz Ensemble – a very famous place for tourists.

DINNER. OVERNIGHT IN BUKHARA.

Day 3: BUKHARA-GIJDUVAN – NURATA-YANGIGAZGAN(YURTS)

BREAKFAST. After breakfast drive to Gijduvan by bus. Arrival in Gijduvan.

Gijduvan always was the significant center of crafts. One of the crafts is the way of manufacture of ceramics. The schools of Gijduvan are known for the ornament and combination of geometrical figures. Owing to history, schools can show various ways of manufacturing ceramics: preparation of clay, manufacturing of various ceramic figures, and their coloring roasting in the furnace at temperature 1000oC. Families of handicraftsmen have kept two crafts about one today: ceramics (pottery) and national embroidery.

Arrival and host into the house of pottery master Abdullah. Master Narzullaev Abdullah is the son of Narzullaev Ibodullo the most famous ceramist of Uzbekistan. Ibodullo is the founder of Gijduvan School of ceramics, he participated in more than 50 international exhibitions and his works are exposed in museums of many countries of the world.

For the last few years, the ceramics of Gijduvan School have been exposed in 60 exhibitions in different parts of the world: Japan, the USA, Germany, France, Italy, and Israel.

The Narzullaevs’ won many prizes in different competitions and festivals, they have received government awards. Their works have been appreciated by the specialists and distinguished guests of our country such as Mrs. Madeleine Albright, Mrs. Hillary Clinton, The Prince of Wales His Highness Charles, and Mr. Federic Mayor. Till 12.00 o’clock the introduction with the family of masters Abdullah, his work-shop, the process of making clay, ceramic, and shaping pottery(ceramic). Transfer to Nurata.

LUNCH.

Excursion around the city: Spring water (Chashma) - Fortress of Alexander the Great.

Springwater (Chashma) Chashma is a place of pilgrimage of believers and one of the most significant religious centers of Islam in the region.

The complex of religious constructions “Chasma” (Tadjik word for spring) includes the spring, a well, mosque “Djuma” and Khanom (bathhouse). The round Djuma mosque was constructed above the spring and has 40 columns.

The dome, 16 meters in diameter is one of the largest in Central Asia. On the southeast part of the complex is a Nurata cemetery with the burial place of the saint person.

Fortress of Alexander the Great. Once known as Nur, this ancient town was founded in 327 BC by Alexander the Great. The remains of this military fortress rise up above the town and the water supply system that Alexander the Great installed is still partially used even today.

The fortress is situated on the south of modern Nurata. It represents one of the most ancient and significant archaeological monuments of the region. The fortress consisted of several parts, with Shahristan (the inner town) 500x500 meters in size, which was surrounded at that with a large wall and towers. The construction of a fortress at Nurata had a definite purpose, as the town was set in a strategic place at the border between an agricultural area and a wild steppe.

This area is mentioned in several historical chronicles as an important strategic area convenient for gathering an army before attacking neighboring lands and as a place of refuge for rebels and outcasts. Transfer to Yangigazgan to the Yurts (camping). Riding on Camels.

DINNER AROUND THE FIRE WITH LOCAL KAZAK’S FOLKLORE SHOW.

DINNER. OVERNIGHT IN YURTS.

Day 4: YANGIGAZGAN-LAKE AYDARKUL-VILLAGE SENTOB.

EARLY BREAKFAST IN YURTS. Trip to the lake, fishing. In case of good weather, it’s possible even to swim and sunbathe.

LUNCH OR PICNIC ON THE LAKESHORE. After lunch transfer to village Sentob. Arrival and check-in guest house and meeting with the villagers and walking. Talking with the villagers.

DINNER. OVERNIGHT IN VILLAGE SENTOB.

Day 5: VILLAGE SENTOB-VILLAGE MOJURUM-VILLAGE UKHUM.

BREAKFAST IN VILLAGE After breakfast Transfer to the village Mojurum walking 3h or 4h in the village of Mojurum meeting with the villagers and enjoying the nature of mountains with the beautiful passage of village. Transfer to the village and accommodation in a guesthouse in Ukhum.

Day 6 : VILLAGE UKHUM – SAMARKAND

BREAKFAST IN THE VILLAGE

SAMARKAND – one of the most ancient cities of the world was formed approximately in V BC. It existed under the name Marakanda even by the middle of 1000 BC and was the capital of Sogdiana. Later the old part of ancient Samarkand was renamed Afrosiab. Samarkand was the capital of the Temur Empire in the XIV-XV centuries.

The history of Samarkand goes back to VI BC when it was ruled by the Akhemenids empire, ruled by Alexander the Great in 4 BC. In "Divanu lugatit turk"(XI C) Samarkand was called as "Semizkand"("Fat city").

Historically, Samarkand has faced many periods of upheaval and decay, it has taken a difficult historical path. Every period in the life of Samarkand has its characteristics, embodying the spirit of the times. Throughout the years of its existence, Samarkand has played a great role in the historical, political, economic, and cultural life of Central Asia. Its favorable geographical location was very important. The city is situated in a fertile and well-developed part of the Zarafshan Valley, along the Great Silk Road from China to Byzantium.

LUNCH. After lunch sightseeing tour.

• Bibi Khanum mosque – was named in honor of the eldest wife of Great Timur (XIV в.).

• Siyab local bazaar – taste the best bread and fruits of Samarkand.

FREE TIME. DINNER. OVERNIGHT IN SAMARKAND.

Day 7: SAMARKAND

BREAKFAST IN THE HOTEL. Sightseeing tour of Samarkand:

 Gur-Emir mausoleum – the burial place of the Great Amir Temur and

 his dynasty (XIV-XV c.).

 Reghistan square – the main square of Samarkand. It consists of Madrassah Ulugbek (XV c.), Madrassah Sherdor (XVII c.) and Madrassah Tilla Kori) (XVII c.).

LUNCH AT THE NATIONAL RESTAURANT. After lunch continues sightseeing:

 Shakhi-Zinda necropolises – which means “Alive King” (XI-XII c.).

 Ulugbek observatory – The biggest observatory was built by Ulugbek (XVc.).

DINNER. OVERNIGHT IN SAMARKAND.

Day 8: SAMARKAND – TASHKENT

BREAKFAST IN THE HOTEL. Transfer to Tashkent (320 km, 4 hours) by bus or car. Arrival in Tashkent. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation in the hotel.

LUNCH. After lunch sightseeing tour of Tashkent:

Madrassah Kukaldash - was built by Kukaldash the prime Minister of Tashkent during Tashkent Khans (XVI c.).

DINNER. OVERNIGHT IN TASHKENT.

Day 9: TASHKENT – HOMELAND

BREAKFAST IN THE HOTEL.
